Amadeo is the Coffee Heritage of the Philippines — home to world-famous Barako Liberica farms. Walk the fields, watch the harvest, and taste coffee straight from the source.
Experience authentic farm-to-cup coffee in Amadeo's highlands.
Amadeo has been growing coffee since the Spanish colonial era, when Liberica beans — locally known as Barako — were first cultivated in the rich volcanic soil of Cavite's cool highlands. For centuries, Barako was the coffee of choice across the Philippines, prized for its bold, smoky, intensely aromatic character.
Today, Amadeo is officially recognized as the Coffee Heritage of the Philippines — a title earned through generations of farming families who kept the Barako tradition alive when other varieties nearly displaced it.
The municipality produces four coffee varieties: Barako (Liberica), Arabica, Robusta, and the rare Excelsa — making it one of the most diverse coffee-growing regions in Southeast Asia.
October–February is coffee harvest season — the best time for farm tours. Watch the red Barako cherries being harvested by hand, then see the whole wet-process from pulping to drying.
Most farms accommodate groups of 10–50 with advance booking. School tours and agricultural study visits are welcome at several farms in Brgy. Bucal and Talon.
All farms sell freshly roasted Barako beans at farm prices — significantly cheaper than in Manila. Buy whole beans or ask for ground for your preferred brew method.
